The Lebanese Republic is bordered on one side by the Mediterranean and on the other by two parallel mountain ranges; Lebanon seems a country suspended between the sky and the sea. Despite its small area (10,452 square km), this is a land resplendent in its diverse geography, landscape, culture and history.
Lebanese cities are among the famous names in ancient history, where some cities were inhabited as early as Neolithic times (6,000 - 4,000 B.C.) such as Saidon (Sidon), Sour (Tyr), Jbeil (Jbayl, Byblos) and Trablus (Tripoli). Until the current days, ruins are still resisting the ages, and are standing still to show the greatness of the people that lived in this holy land.
About 120 km from Beirut. Known to the Lebanese as the Cedars of the Lord. Some of the remaining 400 trees are over 1500 years old. The Cedar tree, majestic and indestructible, is the emblem of Lebanon and adorns its flag.
Lebanon is a country rich in natural scenery from beautiful beaches to mountains and valleys. Lebanese people take pride that Lebanon is one of the few countries that gives you the opportunity to go skiing in the morning and going to the beach in the afternoon.
